Welcome to Treadlestitches! Happy Holidays!
I'm still on my quest to use up the Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks I made all this year. This is the next-to-last heart quilt, which I'm calling Pink Valentines.Coming soon, one last heart quilt!
When I'm piecing I need leaders and enders, which can lead to scrambling around in the scraps and getting totally off track. A better use of the time is participating in block drives, like the current one being run by Cynthia at Oh Scrap. (Click HERE for the block drive post/directions.)
The quilts made from the blocks will be donated through Many Hand and Many Hearts. Click on the link to learn about their mission.
The holidays are here! This can be such a busy time for those of us who celebrate. How are you doing? Don't forget to stay hydrated!
Hubby and I went to a program this week at our youngest grandson's school. That's him, with the vest on, next to his friends. The program was wonderful as always, and really gets me in a holiday mood.
More holiday merrymaking is on the schedule for today. My daughters and their kids are coming over, and we're making Christmas cookies. It's a family tradition that we look forward to every year. I'm almost ready. Three different doughs are chilling in the fridge, but I do need to make about a gallon of icing, so I'd better get going.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! And a joyful week to everyone!
Cheers for reading,

Your quilts came out so lovely! And you can never have too many heart quilts, IMHO. Love your MHMH blocks. Mine are opposite of yours, so for now we complement each other!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue! It's like we're working together on the MHMH blocks!
DeleteYour pink hearts are sweet as can be, Sylvia, and I'm sure this one will be loved by its recipient! I love those Sister's Choice blocks, too - you have such pretty blues to use in them. I was wondering what to sew on this afternoon - some blocks for Cynthia's current block drive are the perfect idea! Enjoy your baking today!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diann! The baking went well, with even the teenagers getting into it. I need to look for more block drives now so I don't have to start a new project!
DeleteOooh I do love your pretty pink valentines! Don't you know that "pink makes the boys wink"? I rather like those black and white bordered four patches too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny! The cute pink prints we see everywhere are winning me over.
DeleteYour pink Valentine's quilt is so pretty, Sylvia! Love your Sister's Choice top, so pretty in bright colors. Making Christmas cookies together with family sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Astrid! We have so much fun baking and decorating. We do end up with some weird looking cookies sometimes.
DeleteAs always, your quilts are so much fun to look at. Bravo on getting on finished and another one assembled. I scrambled for leaders-enders all the time as I don't cut enough of them before hand, lol. Will I learn to be better prepared in 2026? Probably not. Enjoy the family time together, the food, the hot chocolate, and loads of cookies. ;^)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chantal! Happy holidays to you too!
